Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction is a common dental procedure to remove a tooth that is damaged, decayed, or causing crowding. While it may sound intimidating, extractions are usually quick and performed under anesthesia to minimize discomfort.

When Is a Tooth Extraction Needed?
Common reasons for extraction include:
- Severe tooth decay or infection
- Advanced gum disease
- Broken teeth that can’t be restored
- Impacted wisdom teeth
- Preparing for orthodontic treatment
What to Expect During the Procedure
- Numbing the Area: Local anesthesia is used to ensure you don’t feel pain.
- Tooth Removal: The dentist gently rocks the tooth to loosen it, then removes it.
- Stitches (if needed): Sometimes stitches are placed to help the area heal.
